There are 8 days of independent travel in November. This is an important opportunity for students to explore parts of India that appeal to their personal interests, and to give students the experience of planning activities in a country and culture far different from their own. By the time of the independent travel, students will have gained confidence in their ability to navigate the country, and will appreciate a break from the intensity of the group experience. India is a vast country, and students can go anywhere subject to the constraints of time, money, and safety. Students will be required to travel with at least one other person and to obtain approval of their travel itinerary from Kari. You must also give program leaders and at least one contact person in the United States a copy of your travel itinerary, so that you can be contacted in case of emergency.
